MSNBC news services reports that as of Aug.12, Netflix’s 55 shipping centers have been delayed in sending out rented DVDs due to a technical glitch in the shipping system.

The report adds that this is the second time in Netflix’s nine-year history that it has been unable to ship DVDs as a result of an internal problem. The cause of the first problem has long been rectified.

According to the report, Netflix will credit the accounts of those affected by the delays. In the meantime, Netflix is working feverishly to determine the cause of the problem in order to fix it as soon as possible.
