Paradigm Introduces Latest Generation of PDR Subwoofers

Mon Apr 28, 8:42 PM GMT

ImageParadigm recently announced its fourth generation of PDR powered subwoofers, consisting of the PDR-8 and PDR-10 subs. The PDR-10 features a 10-inch woofer and 120 watt (360 Watt Dynamic Peak) amplifier, while the PDR-8 features an 8-inch woofer and a 100 watt (300 Watt Dynamic Peak) amplifier.

New features common to both models include a sub/sat phase alignment switch that enables users to adjust subwoofer settings for zero or 180 degrees in order to avoid wave cancellation and the resulting dip in bass response that could otherwise occur. Both models also feature what the manufacturer describes as “a bypass option on the subwoofer cut-off frequency.” Paradigm has also added two RCA line-level inputs to accommodate L/R line out, Sub-out, or LFE-Out signals from the receiver. Both subwoofers also feature new reinforced polymer-composite cones for increased rigidity and internal damping as well as a convenient auto-on/off.

The PDR-8 retails for $250 and the PDR-10 retails for $380. For more information and to see Paradigm’s full line of home theater speakers, visit www.paradigm.com.
